- The Honda P500 and P520 battery relocation kit is designed to fit a group 47 H5 size car battery. This kit DOES NOT COME WITH A BATTERY!!! It does come with the battery box, all hardware to mount the battery box and 4 ga battery cables long enough to reach the factory battery. It requires some cutting of the plastic under the seat and drilling 1 hole in the metal everything else bolts in.
- Car Battery size that fits this kit Group 47 H5 Car battery. Group Codes BCI 47 DIN H5. Group 47 H5 battery dimensions are L 9.57” W 6.94” H 7.5”. We like to use the AGM battery it tends to work better in off road vehicles. The factory battery is 200 CCA 20 AH and most group 47 H5 batteries are 400-650 CCA and 48-60 AH. We used the AGM 600 and 650 CCA 60 AH batteries in our pioneers.
- Built with 14 gauge powder coated steel it has a solid plate on the back, side and bottom to protect the battery from debris that the rear tire throws at it the other two sides that are not in harm’s way are partially open this allows for water, mud, snow and anything else to fall out and away from the battery. I designed it this way because I know some of you will be submerging these little tanks into anything that looks fun and all that stuff needs to fall out and away from the battery.
- Why should you buy this kit? I did! Yes I use the products that I sell. I needed a larger battery to run all my accessories and could not find a kit so I designed this one to fix my battery issues on my P500. The second kit I built was for my brother his factory battery was definitely not enough for his P520 snow removal machine. He runs a full cab with heat, power steering, radio, lights, strobes, snow plow, salt spreader and a phone charger he also needed it to start when it’s -20°F and run all these accessories for 8-24 hours straight. You can now purchase a kit if you need one too.
